Useful information is only useful when you can find it again. A few simple habits can make everyday notes, links, documents and ideas much easier to manage.
1. Give things clear names
Whether you are saving a file, bookmark or note, use a name that will make sense months from now. Descriptive names are much easier to search than labels such as “new document” or “miscellaneous.”
2. Keep related information together
Group similar material into a small number of sensible categories. Too many folders can become just as confusing as having none at all.
3. Save useful links intentionally
Instead of leaving dozens of browser tabs open, bookmark the resources you genuinely expect to use again and give them recognizable names.
4. Review what you keep
Occasionally remove outdated notes, duplicate files and bookmarks you no longer need. A smaller collection is usually easier to navigate.
5. Create one dependable starting point
